i’m posting a quicktime of my 60 minute film for my sound session. What is the best way to provide a small file but one good enough to mix to? 1 gig is what it comes out to using QT conversion H264 640×480 size.
Is that as small as I should expect or can he have a file much smaller?

Why not ask them? they will be the ones getting the file.

I am sure they would want full frame size and a reasonable image. I normally use H264 720 x 576 (for PAL) medium quality Quicktime conversion which comes in at around 1.5 gig which is small enough to burn onto a DVDRom with the OMF files.

But as Shane said, just ask.
