  • Exporting PSD Paths to AE – is it possible ?

Posted by Ace Billet on June 8, 2005 at 1:08 pm

I’m have some figures in PSD, each with 3 paths (body and forground objects)

I know you can export masks to an Illustrator file, but when I open this file
in After Effects It doen’t have layers or masks.

is there any way to transfer the vector info to masks in AE ?
(besides copy + pasting each mask)

    cheers

you can import PSD files as composistions that might preserve your masks and paths…but you will not be able to manipulate them once you do….

Nope. Not yet, anyway. Maybe some later version of AE will include such a useful feature…
