Exporting problem
Hello people, how are you?
This is my problem:
I have a 5gb large h264 .mp4 file that I need to do some minor changes to. When I import it into FCP the program says “General error” and then “Error: out of memory” and I cant see the project in the canvas. Still I managed to do what I needed to do blindly and I don’t know if the memory issue matters for my problem. What happens is that when I have exported the project (Export – Quicktime movie) it doesn’t play smoothly. The camera movement appears jittery.
What can I do to avoid this?Help would be rewarded with great appreciation and good karma!

convert your file to prores422 using mpeg streamclip and then edit.

Or use an editing app that works with that file format natively, like Adobe Premiere Pro
