    Hello !

I’m having a hard time figuring out how to export to MXF files for TV. I’ve read as many pages as I can about this subject, but I only found pages about XDCAM, P2 or importing MXF, which is not what I need.

    The specifications are :

    MXF Op1a Wrapper :

    Essence : SD, Mpeg2 / 4.2.2 Bitrate 15 Mbps, Long GOP 12 (IBBP), 25i/s, interlaced (top field first), resolution : 720×576 16:9
Audio : Uncompressed PCM Wav 48kHz 16bit, 2 identical tracks, Little Endian
Misc. : TC start : 00:00:00:00, AFD tag needed in the MXF header : 16/9 _16/9, ( Ceefax datas in User-data from MPEG2 normes, and a XML file ).

I tried exporting a MXF file with FFMPEG, but (as I unhappily expected) it didn’t match the specifications. MPEG2 video wasn’t correct (made with Premiere Pro CS4, but I did not manage to get the good settings, I had to set GOP settings manually, and to choose a profile (High or Main), which is not in the specs), the MXF file has no AFD tags, no XML file were generated, and by the way, the tech guy told me afterward that video created with FFMPEG will never work for playout needs.

So, the biggest question is : what software(s) can I use to create the good MXF file ? And second question is how.

Thanks a lot, and sorry if I wrote english errors.

    Nicolas.
