Exporting .MTS files with same quality
Posted by Chris Kelly on November 16, 2012 at 9:43 pmHey guys,
I have a camera that shoots video with a .MTS format, I was wondering what I format the final video for exporting as? MPEG4? .H264? I can’t seem to find anything that preserves the quality. I saw a previous post with a similar issue, but it never was resolved.
Thanks for your help!

November 16, 2012 at 11:28 pmThose formats will work, but it all comes down to the settings you use to export and most importantly, the data rate.
If you can tell us what you’re trying to do with the file you’re making we can be more helpful.

November 17, 2012 at 12:49 amI have had the same question about output quality. I am new to Pr Pro CS6. I used Pr Elements 10 previously. When I output .mts to DVD Mpeg 2 in Pr Elements the standard output settings look better than what I get from the CS6 Media Encoder. Does Creative Cow or anyone else have any tutorials about tweaking the output quality in the Media Encoder?
You said to get the Data Rate right but I’m not sure how to tweak the Data rate in the Media Encoder.
I’m trying to learn but the curve is proving to be fairly steep for me.
Thanks!

May 18, 2013 at 1:53 amIs there a way to export .mts files to .mts files with the same quality? I see a lot of options for output, but none that will allow to export to the native format with the same quality. A lot of consumer software allows this.
