Exporting Mpeg 2 with video and audio in 1 file
Hi..I was asked to export a mpeg2 file from my FCP project which should include video and audio in the same file, not separate files. But the way I know exporting mpeg 2 from FCP or Quick Time fro makes 2 files, audio and video separated. Is it possible to export mpeg2 file that contains both video and audio from FCP or compressor? If not what should I do? many thanks….

Yes, this is called a muxed mpeg file, used in some settings for server-based projections. I believe mpegStreamclip can do this too.

Yes, in Compressor choose a MPG2 preset. In the “Extras” tab, select: “Multiplexed MPG-1/Layer 2 Audio.
You can do it as well with BitVice Helper. Free from the Innobit web site.Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1

Mpeg stream clip does not do it. It only “demuxes” the clips…

I tried the setting but it did not work. I am getting only the video. My system is FCP 5.1.
