  • Exporting .MOV for use in PowerPoint

    Hello!

I am trying to insert a short .MOV file into Microsoft PowerPoint. Whenever I do, I get the following error: “PowerPoint cannot insert a video from the selected file. Verify that the necessary 64-bit codec for this media format is installed, and then try again.”

When I put the source video file in Premiere Pro (version CS6 with Creative Cloud) and try to export it, I set the format to QuickTime in order to obtain a .MOV file, which I suspect should play. I have QuickTime installed on the PC that I’m using to create the slide show. The computer that will be playing the slide show is a Mac.

Can anyone help me with this codec problem that’s preventing my .MOV file from inserting into the PowerPoint presentation?

    Thanks!
    Keith

What version of PowerPoint and what OS? Have you tried H.264/MP4 instead?

I’m creating the slide show on a Windows 8 PC using PowerPoint 2010. I don’t recall what the Mac OS and PowerPoint versions are that I’m running the show on. However, I can’t even get it to function properly on the PC.

I have tried H.264/MP4, but that won’t play when I put it on the Mac.
