Exporting .MOD files to DVD
Hey all, looking for some help for putting a bunch of VLC-playable files on DVD. I’m doing a favor for a friend of mine, who wanted some performance videos just burned to a DVD, to be playable in your average DVD player. The files have a .MOD extension, and my rig is a Macbook Pro with Final Cut Studio Pro installed, along with the basic DVD-making functions. Any advice on how to get these videos onto a DVD without an excessive amount of compression?

Be more specific….where are you having troubles? iDVD and DVDSP are the authoring tools. Have your tried using those?

My concern is that the .MOD file won’t read in DVDSP or iDVD, since it’s a VLC file. Is it possible to just use the .MOD file, or do I need to compress it into a different format in order for it to work?

You need to use compressor to convert these to m2v files.
They are already mpeg2 but not DVD compliant so this is your only choice.
