Exporting longer than 30 mins

What kind of format r u going out to?
What is the file size when it stops?
What format type is ur hard drive? Fat32 ntfs macext fatx
ur drive format may be limited to file size. (fat32 = 4gig)

can u send me some info which i need to help u
ur harddisk partition is FAT32 or NTFS
which exporter u r using
and which format r u exporting

if its uncompressed and u have FAT32 partition, FAT32 have a file size limitation and so it splits the file convert us hdd partition into NTFS it will solve the problem

if still u r having the problem please send the above info

Strange, it does at times for me working in High definition at 1080i, however I just transcode the remainder , say 15 mins and join in Export mode to HDV videocamera and it works perfectly, but, it is a problem. If it is a Canon with Digic II they tell me because of the size of the individual clips it could be causing an overload , however the resulting Export to Movie or Export to Tape is vey good.

Let us know if you come up with a better solution.

Ps. ie., the videocamera is at times not capable of accepting a large file export back to the camera ????????????????? I quote Canon Australia, they say the file of the timline re: effects and transitions, codec changes can increase file size and the HV20 cannot handle it, which means any other videocamera running the DIGIC II computer would have the same problem. I note the Canon EOS 5D Mark II runs a DIGIC IV processor which is great at producing a file but, the files are larger than those generated by the Canon HV20 which we use mainly to get the video to export and archival tape ??????????????????? In the main the results are professional in the finished product, we find the problem occurrs in complex clips which may have been edited or are just that , pretty big. Simply we cut out the offending clip or reduce the size, but, not the best solution.

You may not have the problem going to Blu-Ray ??????????

I’m exporting to DVD MPEG2
file size when it stops is roughly 1.2GB
The drive is NTFS

I work in TV and i have asked many people but no one can help…
Maybe it’s just a simple as a preference somewhere, but where i don’t know!

1.2 gig sounds like a low quality render fo 30mins.

R u using the trial?

Is it stopping at the same spot, exact file size? It could be a dodgy frame in a clip in the time line, if u can work out the spot I stops try exporting an uncompressed version of the clip in question and replace it in the edit.

What format r u working on? Media type?

R u sur. The work area isn’t short? Make sure it’s the full length of the timeline edit by seeing the full edit in the timeline panel hit \ then double click on the timebase top of the timeline panel it will fit the work area to the full edit.

Not too sure how, but it all seemed to work out last night…
I exported the whole vid.
My question now is what’s the best export setting for DVD?
and what it the difference between MPEG2 and DVD?
Seems when i export in MPEG2 the file size of the whole video which is 45mins is about 1.8GB
How do i get the best video quality? Can i exprt in VOB file?

Make sure the settings are the same frame size, frame rate, field dominance as the original sequence.

7.4 CBR should give you great quality under an hour.
