Exporting Long Video to Youtube
Hey,
Ok so I have a good handle on how to export to YouTube for a video that is somewhat short and I can get great quality with a manageable file size.
My video:
2 hrs 50 mins its an HD sequence. Pro Res 422 codec.
I was told to try an export to divx as it would be decent quality and manageable file size but when i do the quality is no where near what I would expect. I do the divx export from final cut pro at around 1000kbps. File > Export > quicktime conversion >choose divx.. etcI want to show a few examples of quality I am looking for.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO24XmP1c5E full file size was 1.3GB for the 2hrs and 15mins
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Z9WVZddH9w video is 2 hrs 51mins.
When I check the average kbps of both of these vids while they play at 480p the first one is at 700 or so and the second one at 900.
My test file I am uploading averages 300! I am thinking maybe this is why my file looks like crap in comparison.
I dont understand how the individual was able to export videos of that length with a file size that isnt much over 1.5 gigs and mine at the same size is half the quality. I have used the same codecs.. I dont get what else can be different. Does anyone have any ideas?
