I need to move files back and forth between PS and Ill. while preserving the layers. What export options would get the best result?

I really need to have the text I add to art in Illustrator remain on a different layer when I bring it back to photoshop.

One last thing, and this might be whats causing me problems, I’ve added rounded word baloons behind text with tails drawn in in illustrator and trying to export all of that into photoshop, but as I said, on the layers I set up, not flattened.

    Thanks for any assistance!

    Actually, it’s pretty easy.
From Illustrator… File – Export. Choose Photoshop as the format. You then get quite a few options, including keeping text editable and keeping the layers intact.

    HTH.
