  • Exporting Large Movie Out of FCP

    Hello,

I’ve got a 15 minute short that I’m trying to export with FCP or Compressor and am running into some problems. The footage is XDCAM 1080p 24fps. I have tried to export through both FCP and Compressor using the uncompressed, prorez, h264 and xdcam codecs and am not having any luck. In FCP I’m getting the file size too big error and the drive that I’m exporting too has 260 gb free.

Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening? Or a workaround?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the specs of my computer:

    Mac Pro Tower
    2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-core Intel Xeon
    4GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
    ATI Radeon x1900 XT

    Thank you,
    Kirk

Check the format of your drive – it should be OSX Extended.

    OK

I think that was the issue. This drive is formatted to FAT32.

Thank you very much for the help!
