    Hi all,

I have two projects, one DVCProHD1080p@25 and other ProRes HQ 1080p@23.97
I finished my editing and made color correction with Color. Now I need to export it to tiff 1998×1080 and 1.85 aspect. I would like to crop first project and add black bars for second project. What’s the best way to do it?

I’d create a sequence setting for the delivery, then simply copy and paste the clips from the originals, and adjust them accordingly. In the end, just export an image sequence… You’ll find this in the QT Conversion export command’s window.

Also FWIW, you might find the scaling you’re attempting to do a bit better if you do it in AE if you have it.

1998×1080? That’s not standard, you may want to double-check.

Regardless, I’d do this one of 2 ways.

1- export your FCP projects and use Compressor to make the TIFF sequences. You can use the geometry tab in the Compressor inspector to adjust the sizing & cop.

2- send each FCP timeline to Motion and export directly from Motion to TIFF sequences. Change your Motion project settings to the correct size & aspect, then adjust the scaling & cropping on the master layers that contain each track of your FCP timline in your Motion project.

You don’t need to do any re-timing, just render them frame for frame & tell the people at the other end what the original frame rates were.
