Exporting HD 59.94 for the web in Compressor
I looked around, but couldn’t find an answer to my question. My project is HD720p60 and I did an export QT movie out of FCP. It’s three minutes long. In Compressor I’ve been using the H.264/LAN preset trying to get a good looking file for the web. Usually I just deinterlace and adjust the bit rate and it’s fine. But I’m getting jittery playback in QT, as if it’s maybe dropping frames.
I tried adjusting the bit rate and changing the deinterlace settings in the frame controls. I even tried converting it to SD in FCP and re-exporting, still jittery. Then looking back at the original QT mov I exported out of FCP, even that appears jittery, so that must be the problem. How could the original be jittery and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance, Ali

Nevermind, I figured it out. The source QT was just playing back slowly. The Deinterlace Best (Motion Compensated) fixed the jitters on the web file (under frame controls). In case someone else gets stuck.

You shouldn’t use Deinterlace for 720p footage because it’s not interlaced–it’s already progressive.
