  • Exporting from Premiere CS5.5 to SxS: possible?

I’m on a news job now, and need to get edited reports back onto the SxS cards so that I can playout thru SDI to the OB truck.

Is it not possible to do this? We’ve been trying to solve this issue for two days now.

It seems that it’s possible in Vegas (manually), and in FCP (free Sony transfer plug-in). And even in older versions of Premiere (with a really expensive Mainconcept plugin).

But not in CS5. Currently editing in Windows 7/ CS5, then exporting QT Motion JPEGS, and taking them into FCP and pumping them out to SxS from there. Lots of extra weight to carry, lots of extra rendering time.

There must be a better way…

This can be done but it requires the Main Concept codec suite. Premiere does not natively support exporting back to XDCAM EX.

Cheers. It’s a shame, really -rampant and misplaced Apple-bias. That MainConcept suite is way too pricey.
