    Dear all,
I have shooted some images in HD and edited them in HD.
When I am exporting in Blu Ray on a Standard DVD Support all seems to be perfect, But I need to export the same into SD format to burn a standard DVD Video.

I have used compressor with standard PAL mpeg settings returning an unacceptable movie!

I have tryied a lot of configuration and the best seems to duplicate my HD sequence and setting the quick time into DV PAL Anamorphic; then export this sequence directly to quick time movie and import into dvd studio pro.

Using Compressor directly from fcp the results are very bad.

I am really bad impressioned by fcp: I was thinking that fcp is a real professional sofware and not an evoluted amatorial software (as it is).

    Some one has some suggestion?

    Hi Ugo

Converting a HD sequence to SD using DV does not sound professional
    to me.

    Cheers Ben

Well, when you do things wrong, I guess you can come away with this impression. Nice way to start asking questions…saying that FCP isn’t profession to a bunch of professionals who use FCP professionally.

You are doing things totally wrong, that’s why it doesn’t look good to you.

[Ugo Danesi] “But I need to export the same into SD format to burn a standard DVD Video.”

Take your sequence in FCP…export a self contained QT movie…or uncheck it and export a reference QT. Take that into Compressor…use one of the HIGH QUALITY DVD presets. Encode. This will encode an SD DVD. Will it look as good as HD? No…HD has more resolution…but it should still look good. But going to DV, THEN exporting to Compressor? That’s horribly wrong. You are taking your SD, putting it into the worse SD format the system can do, and then making a DVD. Skip that…take the HD into Compressor and have it to the SD DVD.

If you don’t like it…then try Toast 10.
