  • Exporting from Final Cut to Quicktime issues

I’m trying to export a file to for commercial use and am trying ot fit it for broadcast purposes. I exported a sequence from Final Cut into Quicktime as an mov file then opened it up in QuickTime7 to export as “movie to quick time movie” file. I then tried opening up option and specifying the Apple ProRes 422 HQ as the codec option, but when I play the file after it has exported, it is black. I only hear sound. I’ve exported the file using the “none” compressor and it comes out fine but for whatever reason it will just come out black when I specify 422. Anyone know what might be the issue here and how to resolve it? Thanks.

Use export as QT Movie w/ current settings if they suit your needs. Otherwise use compressor.

Ya, you’re taking the long route for sure.

    Finish Edit.
Change the Codec of your Sequence to Prores.
    Render Full/All.

    Export “Current Settings” self contained.
