I am working in FCP DVCPRO HD 1080i60 and need to export a file that can be read in the Avid on a PC? I want the best quality export I can get because we are doing color correction on the Avid. The Avid and PC cannot read DVCPRO HD 1080i60. Should I export using Photo Jpeg or Animation etc?

    Please Help!

You can use Animation, but know that if you’re going to come back into FCP and the DVCPro HD codec, you’re going to take another compression hit.

If you install the latest Avid Codecs on your machine, you may also use Avid’s flavor of the DVCPRO-HD called AvidDV100. Under the hood its the same as the “regular” DVCPRO-HD codec, but you may end up taking another compression hit going this route. If the massive drive space required for Animation is a problem, you might try doing a test with this.

Yeah I am going to have to take the compression hit going both ways. Any ideas as to the best codec to go back from Avid to FCP? Animation again?

    Thanks.
