Exporting from FCP for use on AVID…
Hi there,
We are cutting various VTs on FCP but the studio gallery we are dealing with has AVID and may need to play the exported movies from FCP through it.
I am aware of Automatic Duck, (a costly addition but looks the part), however, we dont need to edit the timelines, we just need AVID to pick up the .mov files.
Some people have said that due to the variation in codecs, AVID can be funny over certain export types. Is this true and does anyone know the best QT export for AVID to pick up without any problems?

What version of Avid? Avid v4 and v5 can import and work with PRORES files. Export to that format and they are set.
But you really need to find out what version they are on. ANything less and your choices are limited.
