    Hi Guys,

This is a stupid one considering that Ive been using FCP since v2…I cant work out how to export a QT whilst preserving the alpha channel.

Im using DVCPro HD at 25p. Using the Blue and Green Screen filter to key footage and export so my client can import into AE and see the alpha. The workflow is set in stone and I just cant work out how to do it. Ive tried exporting using QT conversion into a Animation codec with millions of colour + and it doesnt preserve the alpha.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Justin

What you’re doing should work, but why don’t you export as 32-bit sequential TGA or PICT files?

The timeline has to be unrendered, then export as Animation+alpha. Duplicate the sequence, open it, select all (Apple-a), hit control-b, then hit control-b again. That will shake loose the render files. Then export as animation, millions+
