hey everyone- I’ve asked 6 editor friends of mine about this and no one can figure out the problem.

I’ve tried different kinds of settings when exporting (custom, and what’s recommended for youtube 1080, and what seems like everything in between) and all the exported files look GREAT.

however, when I upload any of them to youtube it comes out pixilated and washed out. even the audio sounds diluted. I understand that youtube further compresses at upload, but this is too much. I see lots of videos on youtube that look great and don’t understand why mine isn’t.

and facebook?? Facebook is even worse. the video looks like it was shot on a flip phone and sounds like it’s underwater.

    I’m at 1920x1080hd
    and 29.97 fps.

I’ve tried exports in quicktime, and h.264, prores 422, forcing sizing and debayer to highest quality….. feels like I’ve tried everything.

    am I missing something??

Try H264 at 5000 kb/s with AAC audio at 320 kb/s (1080p 29.97). I do this all day long and I’ve never had any issues with playback on YouTube.
