Exporting for YouTube
Hi, I am trying to export a video that I just finished for upload to YouTube. Now, I could export the full .mov file to YouTube, but people with slower internets won’t be able to watch it because it skips. So I want a smaller file format for YouTube.
I’ve exported an .flv version of it for YouTube which seems to look good except that it comes out of FCP in the wrong aspect ratio. (4:3 instead of 16:9)
I don’t think the problem could be with the FCP Audio/Video settings because it exports .mov files in the proper aspect ratio. But I don’t know where else to look.
Has anyone else had this problem or, in any case, could you give me some tips on getting a good looking video onto YouTube?
The video was shot in 720P and it’s pretty good looking in its natural state; I don’t want to have to post an ugly version of it for online viewing.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
