I have to do a lot of exports to Avid from Ppro CS3…I’m using Quicktime with the Animation codec. A six minute file turned out to be almost 20 gigs and took forty five minutes to import into avid (but only 10 minutes to send across the network)

I can only guess I should be doing this a different way? Suggestions?

For reasonably sized files you could use the Quicktime DV codec, especially if your source material is DV. If that is the case, be sure to uncheck the recompress box in the settings (for maximum quality).

Currently my footage is P2 480i but about to switch to 1080i. Someone just sent me a whole whack of Avid codecs the have added a lot of options to the quicktime video settings…I am just trying to find the one that is right for Ad reline set to 601
