    Hello. Newbie here.

I want to export my movies for the Australian DVD format. These Dvd’s will be of our grandchildren.

There are so many options that I am quite overwhelmed!

What format should I export to?

The imported files are 1920 by 1080
    Data rate 19551 kbps
    Total rate 19684kps
    Frame rate 29 fps

    Audio
    Bit rate 132kps
    Channels 2 (stereo)
    Audio sample rate 48 kHz

    Many thanks for your assistance.

    Paul.

    Hi Paul,

It seems that you are in the US, correct? The NTSC video standard is used in the US, while Australia (and UK and many other countries) use the PAL format. NTSC is 720×480 at 29.97fps while PAL is 720×576 at 25fps. You could export from an NTSC source to a PAL format, but no need for that – PAL DVD players will play NTSC DVDS, as the conversion hardware is built into PAL DVD players. So just make an NTSC DVD and you ought to be fine. Converting NTSC to PAL via software will not yield very good results anyway, without specialty software.

I don’t know if your source is 1080i or 1080p, but export from Premiere using the “MPEG-2 DVD” format, and choose an appropriate preset, either “NTSC DV Widescreen” for 1080i source or “NTSC DV Widescreen Progressive” with 1080p source. Take the results into Adobe Encore to author and burn to DVD.

    Thanks
