exporting EDL
I have a film that was shot on RED and edited in Vegas 9 by the director. Obviously Final Cut Pro is the recommended software for RED footage, but unfortunately that hasn’t happened, so now we need to find a way to get an EDL out of Vegas.
We have upgraded to Vegas 10 which should export an EDL – but searching online indicates that there is a problem with projects that are created in vegas 9 – they export crazy numbers all over the place. See below example:
1; 1; 3545.2083; 6464.7917; 1.000000; FALSE; FALSE; 0; TRUE; FALSE; VIDEO; “G:\Frame 137 – RED\D003-090726\A013_0727CR\A013_0727CR.RDM\A013_C002_072778.RDC\A013_C002_072778_001.R3D”; 0; 19728.0417; 28551.9583; 0.0000; 0.0000; 1.000000; 4; 0.000000; 4; 0.000000; 0; -1; 4; 4; 0.000000; FALSE; 0; 0
Here’s an edl from Final Cut, which for the most part looks similar to what would come from Avid.
