Exporting Closed Captions from Premiere Pro (Format Options)
I know the ability to export closed captions from Premiere Pro CC is relatively new… Are the only container format options MOV and MXF? I received a spec sheet from Chase Bank, and they require the spot be delivered as an MP4, WebM, and OGG, all with caption data embedded AND as a sidecar file. I can’t seem to find a solve for the embedded versions. Telestream’s MacCaption seems to be a possible option, but I can’t seem to tweak video encode specs.

To my knowledge, none of those file types support embedded captions (MP4, WebM, and OGG)…side car yes but not embedded unless they are burned into the video itself.

That was my understanding as well. I’ve since been able to do the MP4 and WebM encodes via Sorenson Squeeze Pro 11. QT7 Pro doesn’t detect the CC track, but Telestream’s Switch player does detect it in the metadata. I’m using their free demo for testing.
Now if I can just encode the OGG file.

Interesting. Sometimes it takes a different encoder to get those options.

I know that an mpeg transport stream can have embedded captions, but for some
reason Adobe doesn’t support that and sometimes I get that requested as a broadcast
deliverable and have to work around it. -
In case anyone else ends up with this same question, here is the resolve.
I was able to encode OGG files with Theora video and Vorbis audio via VLC on Windows.
