  • Exporting cloner with plain effector and multi-shader

Posted by Avery Gardner on March 2, 2020 at 2:01 am

    Hey there,

I have an animation built using a cloner object (with a multi shader attached) that loops along a path. At certain points there are box fields (from a plain effector) that adjust the color of these clones as they pass through the box fields of the plain effector. Is there a way to export this as an fbx or gltf with the color changes intact? BTW I am not using this for AE or video formats – this will be used with AR applications. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi Josh,

I don’t think it’s possible to export MoGraph to AR yet. All the tutorials (I’ve done some research on this before) talk about exporting the model with materials and physical animation, and this is what you will find also on Maxon channels. Anyway, if this is supposed to be possible, the way is to bake as Alembic your scene, then put the elements under connect object and then re-bake the connect object to get all the data in the scene into one object, then export as gITF to the AR application. If this doesn’t work, so there is nothing new in the subject. Blender and Maya are ahead of Cinema in terms of exporting to AR, but I don’t know if they have reached a point where you could do what you are looking for in either program. I hope this is useful to you.
