I have a sequence where I would like to export the clips within it with handles so that my FX person can work with it. Is there an easy way of going about this? I’m aware of the media manager function, but even with “delete unused media” it is still referencing too much of the media. I know this only because the estimated size of the media after the export would be entirely too large for the short sequence of 20 or so clips. So something isn’t right.

    Ideas?

    Thanks.

#1 reason MM doesn’t trim properly:

you haven’t UN-ticked the check boxes for
    “Include Master Clips Outside Selection”
& “Include Affilate Clips Outside Selection”
& maybe even (Include Non-Active Multiclip Angles

#2 reason MM doesn’t trim properly:

some large files in your sequence don’t have a reel#

#3 reason MM doesn’t trim properly:

despite all the un-ticking, MM is still hanging onto some master clips.
copy the sequence into a new project and try again.

this is a fairly OLD problem, but you didn’t say what version of FCP you are running. (naughty bishop!)
