Exporting at highest quality for feature film
If I wanted to export a finished film that was to be shown on TV or even projected onto the big screen do I need a higher compression code that H.264 – what codec should I be looking at? The Pro Res formats?

If you want a lossless master file to do other things with later,
then yes ProRes is a good choice. -
Common choices would be 10+ bpc codecs with 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 chroma sub-sampling such as ProRes, DNxHD, AVC-Intra, or GoPro Cineform. Also consider uncompressed DPX if ample storage space is available.
