Exporting an image from a video in final cut
Posted by Rishi Kumar on October 7, 2009 at 4:53 pmHey Everyone, I was wondering if there is a way of doing exporting a still image from a video in final cut.
Sometimes when I want to do this, I just take a printscreen of the video Full screened, but I know that’s probably not the best quality.
Hope you can help me out, thanks in advance!

I’m beginning to think that forum is either hidden by the cloak of invisibility from Lord of the Rings, or that it’s under the cone of silence from Get Smart.

October 7, 2009 at 5:09 pmYour right, I just found the forum, thanks so much. Do you mind helping me out a bit more here?
I am tryin to export the image as JPG, however when I do, I just get a white blank image! Would you know the reason for this?

October 7, 2009 at 5:28 pm: ) David, i don’t think the problem is that the basic forum is hidden, it’s probably more that young Padewans like myself consider themselves to be Jedi’s, and pride keeps us from frequenting the basic site.
Thanks again!

If your footage in FCP is interlaced, find a spot with little or no motion in it.”Or deinterlace in photoshop afterwards. You can also drop a deinterlace filter on the shot while you take the stills off and then delete it afterwards.

October 8, 2009 at 3:33 pm…although using the deinterlace filter in FCP appears to work, i had used several video stills in a show that looked fine and solid on my monitor, but the network rejected them because they were “jiggly” (even with the deinterlace filter).
Thanks again!
