Does anyone have any knowledge of Vegas being capable of rendering out an .FLV file directly? Are there plug-ins that can do this or plans for a future Vegas Release?

Is this something that you could take your avi file rendered in Vegas to Super and convert to flv?

Yes, that is pretty much the current work flow. We are in a time sensitive, live news environment and are looking to cut out the step of the avi pre-render.

The only way to do that is with the Premier bundle (w/flash). I render out to a MOV file in Vegas and encode with Flash or On2. The later is the better and cheaper way of doing it.
