  • Exporting an animation created in Marvelous

    Hi,

I created a dress in Marvelous. Then I exported this dress with the avatar in Alembic Ogawa format. This scene also contains a small animation, with 30 frames.

When I import the Alembic Ogawa file into Cinema 4DR25, I only have frame 1 showing the avatar and the dress correctly. But I can’t see all the animation.

I tried importing the same file into Blender which plays the animation correctly from frame 1 to frame 30.

Apparently the file created by Marvelous is correct because Blender reads it correctly.

I don’t understand why Cinema 4DR25 only shows frame 1.

[Indirect method to solve this problem]

Since Blender which correctly reads this Marvelous file, I exported the scene in Alembic format.

Then I imported this Blender file into Cinema 4DR25 which this time was able to play all the animation correctly.

So I manage to solve this problem through Blender.

So it looks like Cinema 4DR25 can’t play Marvelous files in Alembic format correctly.
