Exporting a smaller file for previewing?
Hi, I have made an animation about a minute long, but the client is overseas and it makes more sense to make a smaller version of the animation to put online for them to view. Everytime I try and export a smaller file (ie: smaller physical dimensions and reduced quality) it STILL comes out the same size (240MB) as the original. The dimensions have been reduced to a smaller window size in the export and its fine to look at, but the memory size is just not budging.
Any help is greatly recieved.

Easiest way is probably just take the original file and run it through QT pro and resize/recompress it there. not sure why resizing in motion isn’t changing the filesize though.

You might want to try sending it back to (or importing it into) FCP and then trying Quicktime conversion which offers good control of the image and file size.

If you have Final Cut Studio/Suite, you can export from Motion via Compressor, which is designed to give you control over size and format. You can find it unde the File menu in Motion.
