Activity Forums Avid Media Composer Exporting 60sec clip to internet/ what format is best?

    It’s all about experimentation with the codecs and the bitrate, among other things. It’s really more of an art than a science. Some video may look gorgeous on one setting and another video may look crappy encoded at the exact same setting.

    FWIW, I like the H.264 codec. I’ve had a lot of success with them. Some folks are producing great clips with Flash for video.

    I think Joe hit the nail on the head–it all depends on the video and playing with settings. Flash can be gorgeous and the file sizes seem to be manageable. H.264 is very impressive.

    I personally prefer using a third party app like Sorenson Squeeze to compress my files. The results seem much nicer.
