Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Exporting

    What do you guys export to when wanting a master file that is the cleanest and don’t care about file size? ProRes422? ProRes422LT? H.264? My original files are with my 5DMark2 (H.264). Thx.

    ProRes422 will work great in this situation.

    Kinda depends what it’s for. If it’s for a master archive- definitely 422. If it’s intended for streaming, it’s going to need to be H.264 or something similar so why waste a generation?

    For RED projects I try to stay as high as possible ProRes444 but very rare since FCPX and RED has been playing nice for years now.
    But for HD ProRes422 is my choice.
