exporting 3840 x 720 project in fcp
hello
I’m currently working on a 3840×720 project in fcp,
the movie is meant to be projected on a very wide screenmy material consists mainly of video shot on xdcam ex 1080p25,
but I also need to add several prerendered movs in H264 and Prores
and some large Tiffs,I created an fcp sequence that is custom 3840×720, with compressor settings xdcam ex1080p25,
I have now a 1min. portion that I want to export for testing on the projection hardware
( I was told that playing a 3840×720 mov in H264 at 30Mbps would be OK, and that blending would create a perfect image using 3 projectors)my problem however, is that I don’t seem to be able to export this 1 min. 3840×720 sequence,
neither via “export qt”, nor “export with qt conversion” nor via compressor…
(the final mov will be something like 12mins.)I keep getting error message “out of memory” (in fcp) and ‘failed” (in Compressor)
Desperate for help!
my machine is a 2×2.8 GHz Quad-core MacPro, with 16 GB of RAM

For projects like this, I usually do my offline edit in FCP, but I online in After Effects. FCP has poor support for non-standard resolutions.
You might have better luck changing your sequence compressor to an intraframe codec like ProRes, Uncompressed, or PhotoJPEG.
