I just received the tiff sequence after color correction. The film format is 2.35:1, but the tiff files I’ve got have black bars. I imported on avid the tiff sequence and now I need an export without black bars. How can I do that?

I tried with the “pan and scan” effect under “reformat”, but it it squeeze the footage and messes it up. Maybe I’m not selecting the right options.

    Any advice?

    thanks

Avid can only export at broadcast canvas sizes. So you would normally export (or reference export) with black bars, then strip the black bars off elsewhere (even QT Pro could do it).

As Job said, MC edits only in broadcast formats – 16×9 HD.

You’ll have black bars on the clips, then you go over to squeeze and crop before your output, yielding a perfect 2.35 file in your choice of format.
