    Hi,
I used to work for a broadcaster and never had to worry about exporting, codecs and formats. Now I work for myself and I do. There is a dizzying array of settings for export on FCP, but I just need to know one of them. I shoot in a mixture of HDV and DVCAM, I’m UK based so am set to PAL, and I like speed ramping. However I’m getting serious quality degradation when I export the speed ramped material so, what’s the best export format to use – bearing in mind the project needs to fit on a 4.7Gb DVD!
    Thanks in advance,
    Neil

Your editing will be easier in a DV PAL time-line.
Then fallow the tips of this thread:

    Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1
    G5 2x2Gh 4GbRAM-BlackMagic Extreme
    PMBP 17″Core2Duo 4GbRAM-AJA ioHD
    JVC DTV-17″
    SONY EX-1 . SONY PD170
..and always a big mess on top of the table.
