  • exporting 16:9 to 4:3, changes masks on export!?

I have a HD project that I want to export at 4:3 with letterboxing, in adobe media encoder, when I tell it to export a pal- dv project (not widescreen) I can see that it resizes the masks I have on some stills, cutting off the left and right of the image. it seems to be applying the new pixel aspect ratio to the masks.

it’s driving me mad, how do i fix this?

I would drag the 16:9 sequence to a new 4:3 sequence instead, resize as needed, and export again.

This is very odd behaviour, what version of PPro are you using?

If i nest the 1st sequence in a new 4:3 sequence I have the same problem, and if i copy and paste the clips across they come in at the wrong size, and will take hours of resizing…. damnit
