  Exporting 16:9 AVI for use in FCP

  We are exporting uncompressed Microsoft AVI (16:9/1.2) files for broadcast (eventual output to Digibeta). They re-import into Premiere fine. But when we try to import into a FCP system they come in 4:3 stretched and they need to be re-rendered in letterbox before being exported to tape. What can we do so they come in natively 16:9 to FCP? Is there a setting in Premier? Is it a FCP setting? And we want to stay with AVI files, not go QT.
