So if i hit ‘export’ rather than ‘queue’ would it go faster since it doesnt have to use another program?

Yes; you wouldn’t have access to Premiere Pro while the media creation is happening, meaning your system would be locked up working in the encoding process – Adobe Media Encoder is launched, as I understanding it, in the background but you never see it.
