exported videos lose quality
i’m using adobe premiere 1.5 and when i export my videos the edited scenes as well as scenes i didnt touch and export loose sharpness compared to the actual clips recorded. can anobody explain this?
i’m exporting as microsoft dv avi.

Sounds like it is a compression issue. You are compressing the file so it loses some quality. I don’t use the microsoft dv codec so I don’t know much about it. Try another codec, like the picvideo lossless codec, or Huffyuv. There are lots of codecs available for different purposes.

you should check the “always compress” checkbox if i remember correctly. You shouldn’t loose sharpness while using microsoft DV avi though… I’ve used it before… it’s a 3 MB/sec standard codec… never had sharpness issues before.
check if you’re exporting to the same settings (pixels) as your original footage… happened to me once, the resize crippled my exported video…..

even if i resize them into smaller proportions? that destroys the quality? because i certainly did crop them down quite a bit.
