exported movie is jerky, pls help!!!
Really need some help here.
I finished my project in CS4, exported it to Encore (using File->dynamic link->send to Encore), burned it. so far so good.
When I watch on the DVD some of the shots are very jerky… some are low speed shots, but also regular speed shots are jerky. some aren’t. I don’t have a clue what to do..
Avcourse that in the computer it all seems fine. Just when I see it in the DVD (and I tried a few, not just one) it’s jerky!
Is this connected somehow to deinterlace?
How can I deinterlace the whole project in Premiere? or in Encore?
Please help!! I have to show it in a few days from now! -

It sounds like the shots you are experiencing jerky playback are using the incorrect field dominance or the frame rates are off (doubtful as you have used the DLink for the author). You can either find them each and right click them and ask that they have the opposite field first (interpret footage in CS4 can do this now).
Or… You can export with a progressive setting for the file used in the encore author that will sort out the deinterlacing. (in encore go to the trancode settings and select one with
I would run some export test first though. If you are on a PC use PowerDVD to ‘simulate’ the TV playback it usually shows me if there is an interlacing issue on the computer screen. On a Mac is hard, actually I’ve not found a solution to it yet as the deinterlacing and interlacing issues don’t seem to show through DVD Player.

Ok, I found what was the problem.
In Encore, right after you send it from Premiere, it asks you if you want a dvd or a blueray. I chose a dvd.
BUT, and there’s a big but… If you click on FIle->quality settings… you can see that although I chose DVD, the box near Blueray is still checked!
Once I checked the DVD box again, it was fine.
I guess it’s a bug of some kind. Hope it helps everyone…
