  • Export XML or other list out of AE?

Posted by Greg Jones on July 2, 2013 at 6:43 pm

I can export an XML out of Premiere Pro that I can convert to make a list of footage used in a project. I can’t seem to find a way to do this in After Effects. Does anyone know of a plugin or something else that will export out a file that I can open in a spreadsheet application. I need to make a list of footage used in a AE project but the project is very complex. Any ideas?

    1. In Ae, remove unused footage, then collect files and check generate report only. The resulting .txt file will contain a list of all used footage elements.

    2. In Ae, File > Export > Adobe Premiere Pro project. Open the resulting .prproj in Premiere and export XML.

Thanks. I’ll try the consolidate media trick. I tried the export to Premiere Pro a few times but After Effects crashed every time.
