export XDCAM EX 1 to DVD STUDIO
Hello Everyone.
I wonder if you could help me out.
I cant´t find the way of exporting my footage from my EX1 to a SD DVD with a good quallity.
I do not find the answer, there it is many problems but never a step by step guide.I work with Final Cut 6.0, and when I export the footage to the compressor, and then submite it under 422 nproress or xdcam settings, thje results are aweful, the image quallity is really bad, when I paly it on a DVD it looks all like pixelated or something. like if I have a good quality camera, but what it matters if when I export it the image it looks poor.
I wonder if there it is anyone who couñd tell me how should I go about exporting my ex1 footage on 720 and 1080. if it uses 422 proress or xdcam or what. then to put it in DVD studio pro.Thank you very much.

I had the same problem when I used Final Cut Studio 2 which has FCP 6. The best I could do was export from the time line as a Prores 422 file and import that into compressor. Then choose the highest bit rate possible to still get your project to fit on the disc. Make sure you are using the 2 pass high quality setting. I use a Sony EX-3 so our footage should work the same. I still got average quality until I upgraded to Studio 3. Then I got great quality SD DVD’s.

So let me understand this, (sorry, but I am only a begginer), If I use studio 2 I can´t actually use compressor straight from the timeline, I have first to go through quicktime conversion, using 422 prores Hq, and then take it to compressor, and then, recompress it a bit more? I did it that way, and it looked really bad on the television!
Ok, so then, what settings are the best in the compressor using studio 2? and which ones would be using studio 3?, as I have a friend with studio 3 and he may be up for transfering it into dvd.
