Export Using Compressor (HD Quality/Preset)
Hello,
I have recorded footage (approximately 30 minutes) in HD and have the following questions:
Q1. What is the recommended preset (for best quality) to use in Compressor to export in HD? (Note, Export Using Compressor option selected from FCP)
Q2. Once the Compressor session is completed:
A) Is it possible to output the footage to a standard DVD retaining the HD quality?
OR
B) Could exported HD footage only be deposited to a blue-ray disc? (note the end result to view HD footage).Thanks

File/export/QuickTime Movie…
Use current settings, and make the movie self contained. No compression is added and this file can be played back from any computer.

Thanks for your response Jerry.
So your recommendation is to use ‘Toast 9’ instead of any existing settings/presets in FCP/Compressor/DVD Studio Pro?
I’ve just read through the link you provided and it appears to be useful.
Looks like I’ll need to purchase ‘Toast 9’. This will enable my HD footage from FCP to be deposited onto a Blu-ray disc.
Ideally, I was hoping to achieve the same result by using FCP, Compressor & DVD Studio Pro.
