    Hello,

I know a lot of people have had this problem but I can’t figure out what I am doing wrong.
When I export my sequence in DNxHD (rec709) the result is as it was in Avid, but then when I convert it to h.264 (with compressor or mpeg streamclip) the result is that the blacks drop. So the image is too dark.

When I export in RGB the result is the dark immediately.

    My workflow:

    • open AMA volume (prores and sony f5 material)
    • transcode to DNxHD 36
    • edit
    • export (DNxHD)
    • make conversions.

QT ref hasn’t been a solution so far.

Really don’t know what to do now, so all help is more then welcome.

    Thnx,

    P.

That’s the infamous H264 gamma issue in QT. Better export QT Ref or Same As Source, then transcode to x264 or Main Concept H264 in Sorensen Squeeze (you got a Squeeze serial with your MC).
