Export to tape question
Hello,
I made a short computer animated film on my computer. Thus, the original source is not DV but an uncompressed Quicktime movie(Animation Codec).
I may have the opportunity to have it broadcast on the local Public television station, but I must send the film in either mini DV, DigiBeta, or Beta. Since I only have a mini-DV camera, I am going to opt for that.
I would like to know how to get it from Premiere Pro 2.0 PC to the tape since I have never done that before.
Here are the specifications. The short, as mentioned before, is an uncompressed quicktime movie with the pixel dimensions of 720 X 405 which is a 16 X 9 (square pixels) aspect ratio. The frame rate is 24 (can switch it to 23.976).
I suppose if I stretch the height to 480, it will be anamorphic format, but can television stations deal with Anamorphic master tapes or is that for DVD only? In any case, I can also just put black bars on the top or bottom and fit it in the 720 X 480 Standard DV format. I would like to send them the anamorphic if I can, but perhaps they cannot use it.
The real question, is what do I do after I get the movie the right dimensions, aspect ratio and frame rate? Should I convert it somehow into the DV codec first?
Also very important. Since the animation is 24 fps, will the Export To Tape process be able to introduce 3:2 pulldown in order to correctly play correctly on 29.97 standard television frame rate?
What should the Premiere Project settings be?
Thank you very much for your help.
