Export to specific file size
Hi there; I’m actually using Premiere 6.0 and was wondering if anyone knew of a setting, or other program, I could use to export my final video to a specific MB file size rather than a specific video demension. Thanks in advance.

Lots of variables to deal with. Some experimentation will get you close. But every video requires a different amount of compression based on the content. So until it is compressed, you can’t really know the exact size. You can, however, get pretty close.
I do not know of any software designed to get you a specific file size. Perhaps one of the encoders like Canopus Procoder or Sorenson Sqeeze does?

Hi, Steven, thanks for the reply.
I’ve toyed around with different predefined outputs, but the size produced is either higher or less than my client wants. I guess what I’m looking for is something that will produce the final video within a certain range.

Just experiment until you get it right. If you use a constant bit rate you can get it very close. With variable, which usually looks a bit better, it is harder. No magic to constant bit rate. Just math.
