    Hello all,

I’m facing a peculiar problem with FCP7. I’m trying to export a 640×480 H.264 sequence (export to quicktime) and it has been 10hrs since I started it. At this moment it says 47hrs remaining and 14% done!! What gives? I was able to export other similar sequences last week in around 4hrs or so.

I hardly did any editing to the stream. I just added an image at the beginning and at the end.

Just to make sure I have enough space I have deleted other stuff left by projects in FCP folder in My Documents and the disk still has around 45GB empty.

    Thanks.

    FCP does not like H.264
This is not an editing codec.
This has been covered SO many times on the COW.

    I’m not editing in H.264 ….. I’m export “to” H.264.

Last week while doing the same, it was able to export to H.264 in about 4hrs or so. I wanted to know why it says it will do the same job in more than 2 days! CPU is always at around 180% use by FCP!

    Sorry, I miss-read.

Have you tried exporting “current settings” and then dropping that file in compressor to make your delivery clip?
